For years, the Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation has been a valued partner in our mission to provide free, quality clothing and essential items with dignity to Northern Nevada neighbors in need. Their generous $15,000 grant in 2025 reflects a meaningful belief in GSCC’s work and helps us continue serving individuals and families with care, respect, and hope.
A Partnership Rooted in Dignity: Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation Awards $15,000 to Good Shepherd’s Clothes Closet
Good Shepherd’s Clothes Closet is grateful to the Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation for its generous $15,000 grant in 2025. This support helps GSCC continue providing free clothing, shoes, underwear, hygiene items, and other essentials to Northern Nevada individuals and families facing financial hardship, housing instability, unemployment, and crisis.
At GSCC, clothing is more than a basic need. It can help a child feel prepared for school, give a job seeker confidence for an interview, support a parent during a difficult season, and remind every person who visits that they deserve dignity and care.
Each month, Good Shepherd’s Clothes Closet serves approximately 800 individuals and families through its Sparks facility and community outreach efforts. In 2025, GSCC continued distributing free clothing and essentials to neighbors throughout Northern Nevada while strengthening partnerships that help make those resources more accessible.
The Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation’s grant provides meaningful support for the daily work behind that service: receiving and sorting donations, maintaining an organized and welcoming facility, stocking essential items, supporting volunteers, and responding to the needs of clients with compassion and respect.
The mission of the Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation aligns closely with GSCC’s belief that every person deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and move forward with hope. Their investment recognizes that access to clean, appropriate clothing can make a real difference for people navigating difficult circumstances.
Through this support, GSCC can continue creating a space where community members are welcomed without judgment and can receive the items they need for daily life, school, work, changing seasons, and emergency situations.
As GSCC continues serving hundreds of individuals and families each month, support from partners like the Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation helps sustain both immediate services and future growth. It allows the organization to remain focused on its core mission while continuing to explore new ways to reach neighbors who face barriers to accessing clothing and essential items.
On behalf of our clients, volunteers, board members, and community partners, Good Shepherd’s Clothes Closet sincerely thanks the Estelle J. Kelsey Foundation for its 2025 grant and continued belief in our mission.
Their generosity helps provide more than clothing. It helps provide comfort, confidence, dignity, and hope to Northern Nevada neighbors in need.
